Hornady's own testing found conventional polymer tips soften and deform from aerodynamic heating in flight — the bullet leaves the muzzle with one BC and arrives with a worse one. The Heat Shield tip uses a heat-resistant polymer that holds its shape downrange, so the round flies to the number printed on the box.
The heaviest 6.5 Creedmoor match load and the highest BC of the three at .351 G7. It gives up 215 fps to the 120 grain at the muzzle and takes all of it back past 800 yards. If your rifle has the twist and the throat for it, this is the one that reaches furthest.
