Hornady Match 6mm ARC, 108gr ELD Match, 20/Box
ELD Match is Hornady's competition load, and the tip is the whole argument. Hornady's own testing found conventional polymer tips soften and deform from aerodynamic heating in flight — the bullet leaves the muzzle with one BC and arrives with a worse one. The Heat Shield tip uses a heat-resistant polymer that holds its shape downrange, so the round flies to the number printed on the box.
6mm ARC was designed to fit an AR-15 magazine and still reach. This 108 grain load at 2,750 fps with a .270 G7 and .261 sectional density is the load that cartridge was built around — efficient rather than fast, and mild on barrels.
