ELD Match is Hornady's competition load, and the tip is the whole argument. Hornady's own testing found conventional polymer tips soften and deform from aerodynamic heating in flight — the bullet leaves the muzzle with one BC and arrives with a worse one. The Heat Shield tip uses a heat-resistant polymer that holds its shape downrange, so the round flies to the number printed on the box.
The 22 ARC exists to give an AR-15 bolt face something that behaves at distance. This 88 grain load leaves at 2,820 fps and carries a .545 G1 — unusually good for the case size, which is the point of the cartridge.
