Description

The two letters at the end are the reason this exists. Tracking Assistant addresses the problem that starts after the shot: you know roughly where the animal was standing, you have a bearing and a distance in your head, and then you walk into the terrain and everything looks different. Broken country swallows landmarks, and finding the exact spot where an animal was hit is genuinely hard — which is where recoveries are lost.

The binocular records the position when you range, then guides you back to it. That is a recovery tool rather than a shooting aid, and it is aimed squarely at the ethical part of the job: finding the animal you shot.

Everything ahead of that is the EL platform doing what it has always done. Ninety percent light transmission and Swarovski's field flattening mean this works as your primary glass rather than something you carry in addition to binoculars — which matters, because a rangefinding binocular only earns its weight if it replaces something.

The ranging side runs an eye-safe Class 1 laser reading out in the right tube in about half a second, with Swarovski quoting accuracy inside a yard out to 1,500 and a measuring range reaching 2,200. As always, the top figure assumes a cooperative target; expect less off an animal in poor light.

Ten power is the choice for people who glass a lot and range occasionally. It holds steadier by hand than the 12x version and gives a wider field for finding animals in the first place. Take the 12x42 instead if your priority is judging what you have already found.
