ELD-X is the hunting side of the same technology. It carries the Heat Shield tip — a heat-resistant polymer that doesn't soften from aerodynamic friction the way conventional tips do — but the bullet underneath is built to expand across a much wider velocity band than a match bullet ever needs to.
That is the hard problem in long-range hunting ammunition. Most bullets either come apart at close range or fail to open at the low velocities you see past 500 yards. A thick shank and the InterLock ring hold the core to the jacket for penetration up close, while the front end still opens when it arrives slow.
Same 80 grain bullet as the 22 ARC load, but the Creedmoor case drives it at 3,325 fps — 455 fps faster. Flatter inside 500 yards, and it arrives with meaningfully more energy.
