Description
Big objectives are bought for one reason — light — and they pay for it by presenting the largest, most exposed piece of glass on the rifle. A 56mm front lens catches more rain, collects more dust, and costs the most to have refinished if something drags across the coating. It is the single element on the scope most worth covering.
The flip-up design solves the problem that slip-on covers create. A cover you have to pull off is one you either leave behind or fumble at the wrong moment; this one hinges clear and stays attached, so the glass is protected in transit and the scope is ready with a thumb flick. On a rifle riding in a scabbard or lashed to a pack, that permanence is the whole point.
These are made by Tenebraex to Nightforce's own dimensions rather than bought in as a universal part, which is why the fit is positive instead of approximate. The shell is a high-strength plastic blend picked for impact durability and for surviving extreme temperature swings without going brittle.
