Swarovski Modular Objective - 115 mm
Read this before you buy it: the 115mm gives you the same magnification as the 95mm. Both deliver 30-70x on an ATX or STX eyepiece and a fixed 35x on the BTX. If you are stepping up expecting more reach, you will not get it.
What you get instead is light — Swarovski puts it at over 45 percent more reaching your eye than the 95mm module — and the resolution that comes with a larger aperture. Those are different things from magnification and, for a certain kind of glassing, they matter more.
Here is where that pays. At 70x on a smaller objective the image is technically there but thin: dim, low in contrast, and struggling to separate fine detail. Feed the same magnification more light and the picture firms up — you can hold 70x for longer without eye strain, you can still use it in the first and last half hour of the day, and you can resolve the detail that decides whether an animal is worth the stalk. The 115 is about making high magnification genuinely usable rather than nominally available.
The cost is real. This is the largest and heaviest objective in the system, it demands a serious tripod and head, and it is not something you carry casually up a mountain. It belongs on a fixed glassing position, a truck-based setup, or a shooting line.
