The Diamond is the competition build of the same mechanism, held to a tighter standard.
It uses the same Frictionless Release design as the Primary — a free-floating roller rather than sliding surfaces — but five of the critical components are matched as a set at assembly instead of pulled from a bin. That's where the true zero-creep break comes from, and it's most of what you're paying the difference for.
The adjustment range is the other half. Where the Primary bottoms out at 1.5 lb, the Diamond starts below 4 oz. Under about 9 oz you're moving in roughly two tenths of an ounce per click, fine enough to actually land on your weight instead of stepping past it. Above that it opens up to about an ounce per click.
