Amazing accuracy!
First time I have ever shot Bergers. Only took one session of tinkering with different powders and found a load that shoots 1/2 MOA groups at 100 yds all day long. Can't wait for fall.
Welcome to the NEW EXTREME STORE!
The VLD's secant nose is what gives it the BC, and it's also why seating depth matters more here than on a hybrid. Berger's guidance is to start touching the lands and work back in .020" steps — most rifles find their window inside .120". On game it penetrates 2 to 3 inches before it starts to come apart, then dumps its energy inside the vitals.
G7 form factor is 1.010, slightly above the standard. This one is chosen for terminal behaviour and magazine fit rather than raw efficiency — if you want the flattest option in 270 Cal, look further up the weight range.
Check your twist first. Berger specifies a 1:11" minimum for this bullet. Slower than that and you may still get groups, but you will not get the published BC — the bullet has to be fully asleep to fly to its numbers.
