Description

This is the bipod for shooting from a seated position, and that is a genuinely different problem from shooting prone. Prone is not always available — tall grass, sage, snow, broken ground, a slope too steep to lie on. When you cannot get down, most shooters end up on a pack or freehand, and the group opens up accordingly.

Getting to twenty-seven inches takes a third leg section, which is the main structural difference from the shorter models. The trade is honest and visible on the spec sheet: more length, more sections, more weight. It is the heaviest bipod in the line and the one that packs longest. If your shooting is genuinely all prone, the shorter versions are lighter and stiffer for the job.

What does not change is the head. It is the same ball and socket giving a full 360 degrees of pan, the same push-button side-deploying legs that Rugged Ridge builds specifically so you do not have to preload them before the shot, and the same repositionable lock lever with a return-to-center detent so you can find level by feel rather than by looking.

That last feature earns its keep more here than anywhere else in the range. Seated behind a tall bipod, your body is doing less to stabilise the rifle than it does prone, so a head that returns to level cleanly is doing more of the work.
