Description

Nightforce puts a number on this one, which is rare and useful: the six-screw version delivers roughly fifty percent more clamping force than the four-screw. That is the entire reason to buy it, and it tells you who should. If your rifle and load are ordinary, Nightforce's own guidance is that four screws will last a lifetime. If you are running a heavy magnum, hanging a large 34mm scope well out over the rail, or building something that absolutely cannot shift zero between now and the end of the season, the extra clamping is cheap insurance.

Spreading the load over six fasteners also distributes pressure more evenly around the tube, which matters on the thinner-walled sections of a long scope body. The construction is unchanged from the four-screw: hard anodized 7075-T6 aluminum bodies with titanium crossbolts and jaws, giving steel-class holding power at around half the weight of steel rings.

Two practical consequences of choosing six screws. First, torquing them evenly takes more care — work in a cross pattern and go around more than once, because uneven clamping on a scope tube is its own problem. Second, the screw pattern is not interchangeable: a six-screw ring set requires six-screw top halves, so if you later add a bubble-level top half or a rail accessory platform, it has to be the six-screw version.

Check available heights against your objective clearance before ordering; the 34mm range is narrower than the 30mm range.
